Acacia
The Acacia, also known as the Whistling Thorn or Wattle, can be potentially an invasive species. Acacia have remarkable resistance to fire and requires a temperature of 64 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. The Acacia has waxy leaves that push off rain water in the wet season so there's enough moisture during the dry season. It has extremely long roots, the longest of any tree, that reaches far into the dirt so they can get to the moisture.
The African Peyote Cactus
The African Peyote Cactus has thick stems which hold water for a long periods of time. The cacti's leaves turn to spines which helps it from losing its water from evaporation. Without these two characteristics of the plant would die of dehydration.
Citrullus Colocynthis
The Citrullus Colocythis has long roots and a high survival rate thanks to its long and large tap root to get its water from deep in the ground. The plants and fruits look similar to a Watermelon plant. The stems will grow in all directions for meters crawling over things in their path.
